~

I had my 2nd week birthday appointment with my normal Dr today. Bella and Biscuit told me to make sure that I pee on everything that I could find. So I did just that. I peed on the scale when they took off all my clothes (Mommy tells me little girls aren't supposed to run around naked) and then I peed on Mommy when I heard another baby crying in the next room. Then the Dr came in and checked me out, and said I looked great (75% height and 45% weight)and played with me for a little bit. Then the mean nurse came in and poked my foot and squeezed it for a very long time and then while Mommy was trying to make me feel better she gave me a shot in my thigh! Not nice! After she put a Daffy Duck band-aid on me, Daddy held me and loved on me for a little bit! When Uncle Jonny came home from work, he loved on me for a little bit too. A girl could get used to all this lovin'!

Busy, Busy

Today we were busy! We woke up and Mommy and I worked on announcements then Daddy had a craving for Mexican food so we went to the nearby place and ate. Then we put up the border in my room and then went to help Uncle Jonny move. After that we took Uncle Jonny to his favorite place; Red Robin! I am exhausted and will hopefully sleep well tonight!

My 1st Pluckers Trivia Night!

Mommy and Daddy took me to Plucker's tonight to play a trivia game and to meet some of their friends. Ryan was there and on out team (which was awful!) and then some of Mommy's doctor friends were there from work. Everyone told me how sweet I was and stared at me for awhile then got back to the game. I slept through most of the game but woke up in time to eat my boring formula and get some dancing in during the music round before I threw up all over Mommy and she declared that it was time for us to go home and take a bath! Daddy and Ryan went to Thomas' house to wallow in their loss and smoke a cigar and drink some beer. Uncle Jonny, Mommy and I went home and got all cleaned up and played for a while in my new bouncer. I will post my picture at Plucker's as soon as I figure out how to get it off the computer!

My First Week birthday!

Ok, so I am pushing it a little bit! We did celebrate the day by going and seeing Mommy's nice Dr. who told me I was so cute with little rolls on my arms! She gave Mommy a clean bill of health! Then we went to Baby's R US and picked up the furniture for my room. My parents (the slackers) have not done anything but paint it yet! I can't wait to see all my fishies! Mommy evan said I might be able to get my own fish when I start sleeping in the room at night! Uncle Jonny came home from his vacation last night and had his first lesson in Emily care. Daddy showed him how to pick me up and feed me and burp me. It was awesome! Maybe after a few more lessons he will watch me long enough for Mommy and Daddy to have a date! (At least they hope so!)

My First Doctors Appointment

Mommy and Daddy told me I was quite the stinker last night. I was scared and lonely and did not want to go to sleep so I stayed up crying all night. Mommy finally patted me to sleep around 5:45. Much to my annoyance they woke me up again at 6:30 to take me on a ride to the doctor. He gave me a clean bill of health and told me I looked great and then woke me up (again) to play with me. Mommy and Daddy asked him how they could get me change my sleep pattern and after he gave them several good ideas (and reminded my very exhausted Mommy that it was ok for me to cry for 15 or 20 minutes!). After that we came home and everyone, including Bella and Biscuit, took a nice long nap! This afternoon Mommy's friend Amanda came over to play and we conspired to convince her husband that newborns weren't so bad and that we really didn't break that easily! I pulled off all the charm I could muster!

Going home!

Wow! My first day at home was very different from my routine at the hospital. After Mommy took her class and they dropped me off in her room, the picture lady came and unwrapped me and tried to take my picture. I was very cold and kept trying to tell her to wrap me back up! Then they wheeled us downstairs where Daddy met us in his monster truck and put me in my car seat. I wanted him to leave me wrapped up but he unwrapped me and buckled me in. As we waved good-bye to the nice nurse we started toward home. We were met at the door by my 2 new sisters; Bella and Biscuit. They were both very sweet to me and gave me lots of kisses. I said hello and Biscuit immediately took her post as my new watcher. If I cried she jumped up and checked on me or if I was talking she poked her head over the bed side to see if I needed anything. Bella never got to come see me 'cause Biscuit kept me safe, so she barked her hellos from a distance.
Daddy disappeared for a little bit and Mommy and I talked to Grandma and Granddad on the phone and then we took a walk a little ways down the street and we took a nap. I think I'm gonna like it here!

Tests? Already?

Today I had lots of tests. I started my day with another poke for blood. They were checking my blood to see if I had any of the infection that Mommy got when she was pregnant (CMV). Then they tested my hearing to make sure I could hear my Mommy and Daddy tell me how cute I am. Then they put all this goopy stuff on my head and did an ultrasound to make sure the infection did not affect my noodle ( thats what Daddy calls my brain). I do not like stuff in my hair and complained to Mommy as soon as they took me to see her. I thought you only had tests when you got to school!

My Arrival

I was feeling very stubborn today. I knew something big was going to happen, I had no idea what though. The puppies kept us up all night pacing and kicking Mommy and I. Mommy showed up at the hospital at 8 am for her scheduled induction and they immediately started poking and prodding at me ( not nice). They started some medicine at 8:45 am that made Mommys legs feel very heavy and then they ruined my nice warm home and I kept being pushed at and my head kept being poked at all day. The doctors scared me and I decided to turn sideways to get away from them. At 8:45 pm the doctor said something about having to do a c-section and the next thing I knew, there were all these bright lights and weird looking people in blue clothes and masks and funny looking hands all around. They were all talking at once and Daddy was taking pictures. They were scary and loud and I just wanted to curl up and go to sleep! After Mommy and Daddy tried to console me, Grandmama Hadden tried to console me and Uncle Jonny kept making funny noises and faces at me. After awhile they took me away to a quite room where they cleaned me up and fed me and put goopy stuff in my eyes. Not cool!
